A Culinary Masterclass at Orania.Restaurant – Duck Done to Perfection Dining at Orania.Restaurant in Berlin was one of the most memorable culinary experiences I’ve had in recent years. As someone who works in global operations, I always take note of how well a team runs, and let me tell you, this place is a masterclass in hospitality and execution from both front and back of house. The duck dishes are the undeniable stars of the menu, each prepared in innovative and mouthwatering ways. The crispy duck skin was perfectly rendered and full of rich flavor, while the accompanying sauces and sides brought out layers of taste that were both bold and beautifully balanced. Whether you try the duck served classic, confit, or paired with more contemporary flavors, every plate is a showcase of culinary skill. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. Every staff member I encountered from servers, bartenders, and even kitchen team all exuded professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of the menu. They took the time to explain each dish with genuine enthusiasm, offering thoughtful recommendations and insights into the ingredients and cooking techniques. The teamwork here is exceptional. I even witnessed waitstaff stepping in to assist overwhelmed lobby reception staff, greeting hotel guests and helping with check-ins and outs. That kind of cross-functional support speaks volumes about the leadership and culture of this establishment. Whether you’re staying at Hotel Orania or just looking for an unforgettable meal in Berlin, Orania.Restaurant is a must-visit. From the refined duck creations to the seamlessly orchestrated service, it’s a place that delivers excellence at every level.

Phenomenal duck in Berlin! Tasting menu with the duck served multiple ways. Their crepes-like pancakes were super tasty. Service was excellent. Bao and Valeria were super attentive and friendly. Best dishes were the dumpling and the traditional dish with the fillings. Ambiance is upscale.

Orania Restaurant We flew in from out of Europe and had the X-Berg Duck experience on the 15th April 2025 and it does not dissappoint (still thinking about it now). The whole experience was a guided tour by the friendly staff that served the most delicious, crispy skinned duck through a variety of stages. We also had the wine pairing, with wines customised to the Orania brand that matched wonderfully with each course - in particular, a sweet slighty fizzy riesling that helped reset the palette so each sip allowed you to enjoy the richness of the ducks flavours like it was your first bite all over again. Not normally big on desserts after such a meal, but despite the size, it perfectly wrapped up the whole experience and we were left wanting more which is rare. Looking forward to a return eventually.

I had an incredible meal and a fantastic dining experience. I recommend the four course duck experience..do not think peking duck think duck but amazing duck. They have a twist on their duck and it's nothing like peking duck. It's delicious and well worth it. The musicians were fabulous. The staff incredibly professional and helpful. A wonderful evening and truly unexpected. Ooh and desserts are very very tasty.

We had a hugely enjoyable evening here on a Saturday night. The space is beautiful and relaxing, with a lively buzz. We had the 4 course Xberg duck menu which was very good. An European take on Peking duck, with a Japanese twist. Not traditional but surprisingly delicious nonetheless. Service was great, our waiter worked his socks off all night with utmost professionalism. I enjoyed watching the theatre of the bar staff even though I'm not a cocktail drinker. The dessert was out of this world. To top it all off, the live jazz was excellent. Thank you Orania Berlin for a memorable evening.

I‘ve actually sympathized with going to the Orania Restaurant for at least a couple of years. I guess the trigger was one of the very first articles I‘ve read about the „Peking/Kreuzberg Duck Menu“ and the (intrinsic) stopper probably was the restaurant being a „hotel restaurant“. I‘ve to admit, I gave the place a first check by visiting the Bar for some drinks after a stroll with a friend on Oranienstreet the other day. And guess what, our Bar experience was amazing! So the Orania Restaurant became my very first choice for this year’s birthday dinner, to finally go for the „mysterious“ Kreuzberg Duck (X-Bergs answer to the Peking Duck)! Not sure if there’s a word cut here and therefore giving the executive summary first: w/o question… one of the top 5 culinary experiences in Berlin for me over the past 21years I‘d the pleasure of living & enjoying many-many wonderful & inspirational culinary events here. No way of mentioning even some of them here w/o dissing/missing others. As well I‘d the opportunity to run some wonderful & mystic places as part of an awesome team myself. Ok. Let’s cut the marketing blabla. Listen folks, as a trained chef, a foodie & service lover by DNA as well as someone who fully gets, reads & understands the challenges of the moment, this experience was simply „Extraordinary“! The four course Kreuzberg Duck menu has been one of the top notch culinary & value4money experiences in Berlin EVER! On top of that the food was accompanied by an out of ordinary level of service. I‘d guess, that over the 4 courses we‘d had a minimum of 10 different service & chef people at the table. Might sound stressful, but believe me, it was a pure pleasure to get to know every single one of them, especially because of their so much away from average commitment & positive energy which came with each & everyone! Folks, hands on my heart, I paid the full bill and this feedback is 100% personal, not paid at all and simply based on my beliefs to „give back“! Before ending, my wife’s favorite part of a menu is the dessert (-> yeahhh, she’s a true sweetheart ) and even here, these crazy folks not only send their „TV style Pattissière“ to our table, but she also dropped some freaking amazing, no chi-chi & simply really tasty desserts. Ok. I get it. It’s seems far too much for an unpaid review, but hej, how much crap, average, overrated and simply „not ever come back shit“ have you been going through!? So I thought, I‘d might want to allow myself to get really carried away for once ! Again, very personal, very much of a Monday evening and very-very slightly infused by birthday emotions. Simply fueled by a very special experience, which I believe needs to be shared! N-joy folks!

Very great place! They really deserve the Michelin plate. They have a real nice atmosphere, and generally a very beautiful place. The food is very good, I had the duck menu. It started of with a nice duck wonton soup, then the crispy duck skin with pancakes, then the grilled breast, and then duck fired rice. All in general a very good experience.

We came to Orania solely for their much-talked-about X-Berg Duck – and it delivered on all fronts. Despite a flight delay making us 30 minutes late, a quick call to the team sorted everything out with no fuss. We were warmly welcomed and seated right away. The experience started strong – and as a German, I have to say: the bread and butter alone were already a highlight. Fresh, flavorful, and a great start. Then came the star of the evening: the X-Berg Duck. Served in four acts – starting with a dumpling in duck dashi, followed by crispy duck skin, perfectly cooked duck breast, and finally fried rice with the drumstick. They use every part of the duck, and every bite was packed with flavor. We wrapped it up with a delicious dessert that hit just the right note. Orania proves that not every hyped dish disappoints – the presentation, flavor, and creativity are all on point. A refreshing and memorable culinary experience in Berlin. Highly recommended.
